Surface treatment of stainless steel spring
Step 1: degrease and scale the stainless steel spring in three ways:
1. Immerse the stainless steel spring into the plastic container with metal cleaning agent a diluted with clean water (the dilution ratio of cleaning agent a and clean water is about 1:1 or 1:2).
The time should be no oil stain and no oxide skin on the spring surface to restore the natural color of the metal. The immersion time should not be too long. Take it out and wash it with clean water. In this way, the stainless steel spring surface has a matte effect.
2. In ultrasonic equipment, the ratio of cleaning agent and clean water is about 1:30. The time is appropriate for the spring surface to recover the metal color without oil stain and oxygenated skin. Take it out and wash it with clean water, so that the surface of stainless steel spring can achieve matte effect.
The above two methods can be applied to springs with high precision.
3. The cleaning agent a is placed in the vibrating polishing machine with coarse abrasive and spring or in the hexagonal drum (the volume ratio of spring to coarse abrasive is 1:3, and the amount of cleaning agent is 1% – 2% of the spring weight). After grinding and polishing, it is cleaned with clean water, and the scratches on the spring surface are eliminated, which improves the smoothness of the spring surface. However, this method is not suitable for springs with high precision and easy winding.
Step 2 polish the stainless steel spring:
Put the brightener B into the vibrating polishing machine or hexagonal roller with coarse abrasive (the volume ratio of spring to fine abrasive is 1:3, the dosage of brightener B is about 1% – 2% of the weight of spring, and the longer the time, the brighter). After polishing, take it out and wash it with clean water and dry it. In this way, the surface of stainless steel spring is as bright as nickel plating and will never fade.
